Something Exciting

Image

“Loving Vincent,”  a new animated film that will reportedly be released in a couple of years is something exciting to me.  Any artist should be as excited as I am even if their chosen art is not the same style. Vincent has been so influential to the art community, it’s a must see!

I realize I’ve posted several different versions of the movie, however I admit….I’m excited and got carried away!

Long Ago in Another Time and Place

Some of you will be able to relate to this, some not.  I thought it was cool and couldn’t resist!

Creating Spirit Dolls

Driftwood Spirit Dolls

While I’ve been recuperating from surgery, I’ve been creating Spirit Dolls.  My son gave me three beautiful pieces of smooth driftwood, and all I could see were faces in them……so that’s what I did!

I put faces on them and created spirits with moss, and shells, metal hearts and anything else that felt right.  Later I will show them as I finish them.  It’s a little slow right now, but I work on them a couple of times a week, and then I need a breather.  With all the other things I “have” to do to recuperate, I don’t have a lot of energy to spend in my studio.  It’s always on my mind, and in my heart, and I want to show them to you, it will just take a little longer than I’d like.

If you need any extra creativity ideas there are so many things to just run into on YouTube, and sometimes I’ll take my computer into bed while relaxing and just scan all the how to videos.  It’s a terrible time sucker, but it’s impossible to be upright all day!

Inspiration Comes From Everywhere

In playing around on YouTube I found this wonderful piece on Picasso. Since he is one of my favorites I thought you might like this video.

Picasso was an interesting man, complex, mysterious and a gift to everyone.  I hope you enjoy this five minutes as much as I did.

I’ve Never Seen This Before!

Lately  while doing a lot of resting, I’ve been snooping around YouTube.  It’s amazing just what one can find when one spends enough time snooping, and resting all at the same time!  Some would call this…Multi-resting!

This little demo is a  fascinating form of art, and something I’ve certainly have never seen before.  It gives me ideas, and triggers inspiration in so many directions.  I hope it will do the same for you!

If you do experiment with this technique, or it inspires you to go in a different direction,  please share it with the rest of us.  Facebook is a great way to share what  you’ve  created, or learned, or email it to me directly, (KarenSamenow@me.com) and I’ll include it in my blog so we can all see.

Thank you all for reading Stone Soup, and  following me, in doing so, you  give me inspiration and keep me going  as well.  I hope you enjoy….
