You haven’t
Well little sketches and drawings, maybe a watercolor here and there, but nothing big! So as we skid into 2013, my New Years resolution is not to forget the blog – oh no! I really love writing, and hopefully I’ll get better at it as time goes on. My goal is to create larger pieces of artwork, you know the kind that doesn’t get finished in an hour, a day, maybe even a week! My goal is to paint, and work on something that doesn’t fit into a sketchbook. After all, I did buy those large canvases earlier this year!
I have ideas you know!
Over the last month, I’ve been able to read, sleep, change, grow, and plan some of the things I would like to create. Some are larger than others, but they all take more than a couple of days to finish. There are also a ton of started paintings I have lost interest in for various reasons. Some of them stopped speaking to me, some I grew tired of playing with, some I just got tired while working on them! So it’s not as important to me to show you something I have created, from start to finish each day, as it is to tell you about my thoughts, ideas, and even show you the process. It would be nice if you were inspired by each and every little thing I created! Oh boy, now I’m full of it!
In the beginning…
I started out trying to encourage others to sketch, or do something creative each day, but in doing that, I’ve not been doing much for myself! And, we have to replenish ourselves in order to help others! Someday I only feel like sketching, some days chatting, or poking fun of myself. My husband says I carry a soapbox around on my back anyway. I do not! I just share my thoughts and ideas when I think it’s necessary. At times I’m the only one that feels it’s necessary!
The long winter days!
I know, I know the days are actually getting shorter now, but when the days are cold and damp it doesn’t give me much incentive to keep going, and they feel long...and cold! I need to see and the blue sky, and feel the warmth of the sun – that’s what gives me the energy to accomplish my art!
The new year…
In skidding into 2013, I encourage you to keep warm, keep sharing, start planning your new creations, poke a little fun at me if you feel like it, and have a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
