When all through the house,
Only Kramer was stirring, in hopes of a mouse!
The socks were placed in the dryer to dry, desiring warm feet, as we waited by it’s side.
Daisy was nestled all snug on our bed, while visions of frolicking dancing in her head.
Les in his boxers, and I in my Tee, had just settled in for some really good TV.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, we sprang up to see just what was the matter.
The moon on the ground shown the drenching of rain, it’d been pouring for days with much to be gained.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear, a miniature sleigh, and two mechanical deer.
It all worked in sequence, with lights blinking fast, a Santa with presents, set up on the grass!
The names of the reindeer we couldn’t make out, as hard as we tried to figure it out,
One had to be Rudolph with his nose shinning bright, the other was Comet sitting just out of sight!
Off to the kitchen to make us some tea, we’ll eat a few cookies, while we watching TV.
In our heads we knew it was the right thing to wish, everyone
“A Merry Christmas,” and a warm cozy night!
The shopping is finished, with all kinds of gifts. It’s finally our time to kick back and take a deep breath! Every year I think I’m going to cut my shopping in half, and then I see things someone wants, or needs, and I just can’t help it, I;m toast!
This year, as almost every year I was really a bad girl, and all my shopping, with little exception came from the internet! I’m not proud (maybe I am just little), I thought I was incredibly clever to be able to pull this off – shopping without leaving the office, sometimes even in my PJ’s! The only thing better than ordering from Amazon, is if Santa himself dropped them at out front door all wrapped and ready to go. I would leave a key under the mat if Santa would do that for me!
Have a wonderful, blessed Christmas. May the time spent with friends and family be magical. I wish everyone good health, warm nights, safe travel, and a happy New Year!
I’m writing this at 4:30pm Christmas Eve…before anyone knocks at our door wanting dinner. I have a minute, and I choose to use it to speak to you my dear friends and wonderful followers. In the New Year I hope to do more experimenting, and sharing. More growth creatively….are you in?
Until next year…..
While I do have art to post, I thought a gentle reminder to ~STOP OVERTHINKING~ might be helpful. I for one am very guilty of doing this, and need a constant reminder.
I am constantly inspired by Zebra Designs and Destinations, and today Thursday is for Z.
The weekend before last, my granddaughter Sage spent three days with us…….
That is exhausting, and fun all at the same time, but we were happy to have her!
Our plans included visiting friends, and her cousin Nolan,
and taking a little time to play….
shopping for doll clothes, and of course,
Her latest love of books includes The Boxcar Children…
Sage is eight, and she has been journaling, and writing stories for at least the last year. I’m always impressed when she reads me one of her stories, and shows me her illustrations to go with the story. They get better all the time, and I am bursting with pride because we love all the same things!
Every morning I get up, fix a cup of coffee or tea, and head into my studio. While I’m sipping a conforting cup of something warm I remember all the dreams of creating art, and how I can impliment them into my day. Sometimes it only includes the way I arrange a vase of flowers, or a table setting. But mostly, I work on creating another piece of art!
Lately I find a great deal of satisfaction in mixed media work, and am having fun with pieces of paper, acrylic medium, and design! Being intuitive is key to this process, as I always start with an idea, and on it’s own it takes a sharp left turn.
Where it goes is anybodies guess, and I’m particularily surprised at the outcome, especially because more seems to be better on these pieces.
Thank you for stopping to read my post, see you next time!
