‘Twas The Night Before Christmas

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas

When all through the house,

Only Kramer was stirring, in hopes of a mouse!

The socks were placed in the dryer with care, desiring warm feet, as we waited by it’s side.

Daisy was nestled all snug on her bed, while visions of frolicking dancing in her head.

Les in his boxers, and I in my Tee, had just settled in for some really good TV.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, we sprang up to see just what was the matter.

The moon on the ground shown the drenching of rain, it’d been pouring for days with much to be gained.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, a miniature sleigh, and two mechanical deer.

It all worked in sequence, with lights blinking fast, a Santa with presents, set up on the grass!

The names of the reindeer we couldn’t make out, as hard as we tried to figure it out,

One had to be Rudolph with his nose shinning bright, the other was Comet sitting just out of sight!

Off to the kitchen to make us some tea, we’ll eat a few cookies, while we watching TV.

In our heads we both knew, it was the right thing to do to wish all  of you …

“A Merry Christmas,” and a Happy, Healthy New Year!

The shopping is finished, with all kinds of gifts.

It’s finally our time to take a deep breath!

Every year I think I’m going to cut back, then I see some new things, and I just can’t resist!

This year again, all my shopping, with little exception came from the internet!

I  always think I’m incredibly clever to be able to pull this off – shopping without leaving the house.  The only thing better than ordering from Amazon, is if Santa himself dropped them at out front door  all wrapped and ready to go.  I would leave a key under the mat if Santa would do that for me!

Fortunately this year, I shopped wise, and quick, all in a months time.  The gifts have been wrapped for over a week, and there isn’t any stress in this house!

Have a wonderful, blessed Christmas. May the time spent with friends and family be magical. I wish everyone good health, warm nights, safe travel, and a happy New Year!

This is Christmas Eve…the family will be here for dinner.   I had minute, and I choose to use it to speak to you my dear friends and wonderful followers.  As usual, in the New Year I hope to do more experimenting, and sharing.  More growth creatively….are you in?

Until next year…..

Prayer Flags Again

Image

This flag has been created by Maxine Custer. Maxine has worked on this for about three weeks, and I am amazed at how it started, and where it h as ended.

On the other hand, my third flag is finished, and I’m planning on at least two more to hang on my patio.

I’m so proud of how my friend is creating, and to the extent she is creating, it makes me so grateful for her friendship. Maxine has always been generous in sharing her creativity with everyone, and I’ve learned so many things from her.

Prayer Flags, Or Are They?

Image

Last saturday was our monthly Diva Day, and after getting together for so many years it becomes difficult to have a project to share.  But share we did!  We had a small group, but we still manage to have fun.  We narrowed it down to two choices, and our Maxine decided on flags.

Our inspiration comes from everywhere, and I researched for hours trying to bring ideas to the table for everyone to be inspired.  Jane laFazzio is an inspiration when it comes to fabric and hand work.  Check out her website if you get a chance, you will be amazed at her work.

The fabulous DragonFly Flag was created by artist Karin deBaay.  As we all oood and aweeeed over it, she told us she was trying to come up with some ideas to bring to everyone when it just fell into place, and she had to go with it.   Karin showed up to the party with a finished piece!

Maxine Custer and myself sifted through bags of fabric, ribbon, and various other trinkets to decorate with while deciding which  bits and pieces  spoke to us.

While Maxine worked on her flags, we all decided these flags weren’t really Prayer Flags, but rather, Inspirational Flags.  In fact flags can be whatever we want them to be, and today they aren’t prayers, but rather Kindness Flags!

My first flag just spilled out in a big surprise…..The birds, the sequins, it was all very unexpected.   It was so much fun to put together, I decided to create another flag, and while waiting for glue to dry Karin worked on some of her journal pages…..

Doesn’t Karin do beautiful work?  She is a fiber artist, and all of us get more inspiration from her than she will ever know.

Maxine was also working on a lovely piece that speaks more eloquently each day.

While I completed my second flag, I  realized  I needed more flags for them to fly free on my patio.  An artist can’t just have two flags!

Since we gathered not just to share and inspire each other, but to celebrate Karin’s Birthday as well,  we had a Yummy summer salad, and Fruit Tarts from the French Bakery.

Karin had a fun day…IMG_0127 2

Maxine was inspired to keep creating…..IMG_0125

And I’m here to tell the story…..IMG_0128

This is the story of a Diva Day of small proportions, and lots of fun!  Thank you for checking in with Stone Soup,  I love it when you respond, and appreciate all your comments.

To Clean or Not To Clean?

Image

Several years ago my husband heard me say I wanted an airbrush.  So for Christmas he bought me an Iwata Airbrush, and compressor which I love.  The problem is he spent so much money on it, I’ve been terrified to use it, and even more terrified to take it apart to clean it.  So each year that went by, he re-wrapped it, and surprised me with the same airbrush and compressor.  After about four years, the joke got a little stale, and he had to let it go. But a couple of years ago, he re-wrapped it again, and I figured I’d better do something positive, or he’d think I didn’t appreciate his efforts.

Earlier this year I ordered another, much less expensive airbrush to use for make up, and other little things.  It was only forty dollars, so I figured if I can use, and clean this one, I’d start using the good one.  I’ve used it several times on make up, but I can never get it cleaned the way I think it should be.  Now it’s starting to get sluggish, and  work off and on.

This led me to  take it apart and really give it a good cleaning.  I so carefully placed all parts in the order they were removed, and guess what?   Now they won’t go together properly!

I knew it!

That is precisely why I was afraid of the expensive one.   After asking everyone I know if they had any clue at all as to how it goes together, I went to YouTube and found a “How To Video.”   The video is great, but it is showing the Iwata, and I’ve got a I-want-to-be-a!.

Although I did get it back together ——with one exception—-there’s this little part!  This  piece puts pressure on the trigger.  It fell out before I noticed exactly where it came from, and now it won’t go back  in place.  The video shows putting it in, but this gun isn’t the same gun, and it won’t play nice with me.   I have to find someone who has taken them apart before, and maybe can help me figure out how to put that one part in properly.

I’m sure you’ll hear more on this subject, because I still haven’t found anyone that can help.   The mystery continues!

“Bunny Tails!”

Bubbles

Bubbles

It seems that Bubbles is now about seven months old, and when a female bunny is between six, and nine months of age, it time to bred.  So off she went to be breed….

Sweet Bubbles was getting a little aggressive, and not playing well with others!  After much talking with the “bunny breeder,” it was decided that this behavior was because she was ready to be bred….and so it went….

Now Bubbles is every bit a soft, and sweet as she looks, and we are looking forward to seeing  her tiny, or not so tiny baby bunnies.  We are told they can have rather large liters, not like us, way larger than us!  At this point it’s,  wait and see.

Dusty checking up on his humans!

Dusty checking up on his humans!

While Bubbles is going through all these life changes, Dusty is hanging around as men often do, eating grass, and hippity hopping around his large park-like yard.  Or in other words, Dusty is oblivious to whats going on with Bubbles.

By the way, if you remember after Dusty was neutered his ear flopped over.  Everyone thought he was sad, and the Bunny Dr. said it would stand up when he returned to normal.  Well, his ear is still flopped down, and seldom stands up.  We think Dusty is perfect even though he does have one lazy ear!

Thank you for hopping by to check on Bubbles and Dusty, there will be more excitement to come…

Good Morning Sunshine…

Good Morning Sunshine

As I look for new themes, I’m also considering a name change. This is a huge step, and one I’m not sure I want to take.
There are so many themes, names, colors, text styles, and fonts. could this be more than I’m willing to take on, or even have time to take on?

Am I crazy? Why change something that is working? The question is…..Is it working, or could it be better? We all want to be the best we can be, so if it could be better, why not?

A lot of questions without any answers. Or are the answers to be revealed? Maybe I should consult some trusted friends. Someone who will be honest, and tell it like it is!

Ok, so all my trusted friends (you know who you are), would you please weigh in on this…….
