About Old as Dirt & Proud of It!

Welcome to Old As Dirt, and Proud of It by Karen Samenow. I named my blog Old As Dirt And Proud of It because that's where I am in life. You may find art or music, or inspiration included because, I'm an artist, a spiritual medium, and I'm always learning more and exploring. I hope you find us interesting. My focus for this blog is to bring a little levity to well seasoned women. Sometimes it actually may help!

Thursday Time Out For Art

When my first grandson was born, he came home to these fun Disney Characters painted on his bedroom walls.  I seem to have very little trouble painting walls, but much  more trouble painting smaller.

After my son-in-law painted the walls a soft yellow, I set about to liven the room up with Pinocchio, Mickey, and Gemini Cricket.  It seems to me Dumbo had a place, and maybe even Donald, but I guess I didn’t get pictures of them.

They stayed up there about seven or eight years.  Until Connor was getting just too old to have Disney characters on his walls.  He is almost eleven now, and his interests are more in line with electronics, and space

I was saddened when they had to go, but I knew it had to be.  It was so much fun painting the rooms of my grandchildren, and if I had more,  I’d still be painting walls.

Thursday Time out for Art is sponsored by

Zebra Design & Destinations.   I always find them interesting, and fun.  The website is much like mine in the sense that it has a little of everything.  Check them out when you get a chance.

Believe it or NOT!

I finally have the house back together after having to box everything up…..once again to have the wood floors replaced. I do not ever want to do that again. The emotional energy it takes to face all that is nasty, and if I have to face it again, I might just leave home!

Of course, the last to be organized was my studio, with everything landing right there on the way to the garage. It must seem like the right thing to do because it always seems to get the bits and pieces of everything. Some of it, I

can even use in my artwork!
Yesterday I actually worked on it all day long, and I’m happy to say that I only have my drawing pencils to organize and put away. It looks so clean and even inspiring to walk into such a cool, organized studio. There is now two tables instead of only one. One is for paint, the other is for my computer, and sketching. No paint! My easel sits in the corner, and I have even started another painting.

Before I get into Bunny Tails…

I want to take the time to thank all of you who follow, and show interest in Stone Soup. As you have probably figured out by now, Stone Soup is a mix of everything.  Ideas, art, nature, and all things that might be of interest.  It takes time to comment on a blog, or even read it, and just like it. I appreciate all of you so much! So Thank you again for your comments, likes, and just  showing interest. The rople who show interest in any way, are the people who keep me going!

Now about Bubbles!

As Bubbles approached motherhood, it became clear to her family that this was only a practice run. Bubbles apparently wasn’t pregnant after all. She was bred, but someone didn’t take it seriously! Every one of her family members were anxiously awaiting the arrival of a gaggle of babies, and no bunny babies!
So off to the breeder Bubbles is going again in a couple of weeks. I have a feeling this isn’t going to stop until Bubbles has her babies.

So be warned, we haven’t heard the last of the Bunny Tails.   Thank you for hopping by, and checking on Bubbles & Dusty.  (Dusty is totally unaware of anything going on in the family!)

What can I say…it’s the prettiest tea cup I have.  Not really being into tea cups, but my son surprised me with this one day.  He thought it was special, and decided to bring it to me.

In our home we usually use big mugs to hold, keep our hands warm, and sip from.  We use them for tea, coffee, and sometimes even soup, or broth.  It’s rather casual here in Southern California, and mugs just seem right especially on a cold, gloomy day!
