In the mid-1930's Popular Science magazine called Hemp America's "New Billion Dollar Crop." With the steel, oil, & timber companies holding most of the economic power in the nation, it was easy for them to come up with a plan to demonize hemp through effective propaganda, & misinformation. They insisted that hemp was nothing but marijuana, & it's use was just a dangerous way to get "high!"
Under pressure from these industries, the government passed the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, which imposed a prohibitive tax on all hemp products, destroying the industry & denying Americans one of the most beneficial crops on earth.
In today's world, over 30 other industrialized nations are growing industrial hemp as an officially drug free crop. The U.S. is the only industrialized nation still refusing to distinguish it from it's cousin, marijuana.
Check out the facts…

Because hemp allows us the opportunity to live in harmony with the environment instead of fighting against it, it seems to me to be a huge solution not just to many of the problems facing lower income families, & the U.S., but 3rd world countries as well.
Hemp has a huge potential, replacing major renewable raw materials. It is biodegradable & able to replace plastics that would otherwise take hundreds of years to decompose, & in the meantime leaving toxins in our environment.
I believe that hemp could provide us with a healthier, happier world. Future generations could have a huge advantage, & we would actually be entrusting the future generations with something beneficial!
For this reason, the single law I would like to bring to action is "Legalizing Hemp, & subsidize American farmers to cultivate, & grow crops of Hemp!
There are many more benefits to Hemp. Do some easy research, & learn more. My source for this information has been – Alternative Daily
